The internet thinks this homeless girl is Madeleine McCann

The girl the internet thinks is Madeleine McCann: Mystery of the ‘English-speaking’ teenager living on the streets of Rome who homeless campaigners are trying to identify.
Mystery surrounds the identity of a young English-speaking girl spotted living rough on the streets of Rome.
The blonde girl, who is thought to be in her late teens, has garnered the attention of several Italian’s because of her polite demeanour and inability to speak Italian.
People have said she refuses to accept money and answers questions in English.
Internet campaigners are now trying to get the girl home for Christmas.
Italian police have attempted to identify the girl who has no passport, ID or anything with her name on it.
Locals have reported she responds to the name ‘Maria’, but police have said she has given them different names.
Internet campaigners say ‘Maria’ looks like several missing girls, including Amanda Adlai who was abducted in Michigan in 2008, Maria-Brigitte Henselmann who disappeared from Germany in 2008 and even Madeleine McCann.
The girl has no belongings and has reportedly been wearing the same long tan skirt, rain jacket and black male trainers for weeks.
The case has appeared on the Italian TV show Chi l’ha Visto (Who Has Seen) and received world-wide attention.
Lorena Kollobani wrote to the Missing Persons of America Facebook page to voice her concerns about the young English speaker who was sleeping rough.
She said: ‘I don’t know if she is even American. I’ve seen her in Rome streets. She sleeps outside and has mental problems I think.
‘But looks she hasn’t done this kind of life before because she doesn’t accept money and she is very careful and well behaved while eat (sic). I think she is a foreign student because she doesn’t know any Italian.’
