She may not be physically with us, but Christina’s music will never die, thanks to the four-part miniseries to be released throughout the month, and trust me, you’ll want to hear this.
Prior to YouTuber turned Voice alumn Christina Grimmie’s tragic untimely death in June, she had been working hard on her unreleased EP titled “Side A”, accompanied by a series of music videos for the four song record.
Following her passing, Christina’s family revealed that they would be releasing each of the videos separately throughout the month of August, titled “The Ballad of Jessica Blue”. Christina’s brother, Brian has been using her Twitter account to notify fans of the releases, when he tweeted today, QUOTE, “Here is the 1st of 4 MV’s for “The Ballad of Jessica Blue” #ChristinaGrimmie”. The first of the four titled, “Snow White”. Take a look:
In the six and a half minute short film, in which Christina shot back in February, we are introduced to Jessica Blue, played by Christina herself. Jessica finds herself at a crossroads in her life, struggling with identity, self-discovery, love and finding her voice through music. The video starts off with Jessica and a friend talking about her upcoming showcase, where Christina’s team describes her feelings as “hopeful to prove herself that her music is as strong as her desire to be great.”
She also struggles with a boyfriend who becomes noticeably distant, her creativity and feelings of self-doubt. Throughout the rest of the videos to be released, Jessica’s journey will be unveiled, with the help of her loved ones, including her grandmother, who give her advice and support along the way. Eventually Jessica will find her path doing what she loves, by singing from her heart.
I can’t help but relate Christina to her character after she was known to have always sung from her heart, and I couldn’t have pictured a better ending to this story.
